My name is Vito Glazers, and many of you are familiar with me as being “The General” of the CPATank private Affiliate Network which I have faithfully owned and operated since 2009.  

On November 18th 2012, I released a statement which shocked many people in our industry when I asked all affiliates to pause their traffic because frankly our expansion over took me, and in the light of a lot of networks failing because of this common issue in our industry, I wanted to set the example of responsibility by sacrificing short term profits and take the time to regroup, reconfigure, and react appropriately.

I am extremely proud to say, that after over a month of intense work by myself and our loyal staff, the incredibly overwhelming financial support of many top advertisers, and the encouragement and loyalty of our affiliate/publisher base, that today we are relaunching something much bigger, more organized, more efficient, and overall more able to serve the needs of our clients.  In this release I will be covering the following:

Today, on January 21st, 2013, I am proud to announce that I, Vito Glazers, will be accepting the lead role as C.E.O. of the One World Network (OWN) which will be based in Chicago, IL with global presence in Canada, Los Angeles, and Europe.  The mission of the One World Network is to restore Honesty, Integrity and Responsibility as the governing principles behind running an Affiliate Network.  Personal relationships, a focus on quality, and financial responsibility are the core that will determine the decisions I make on behalf of those we serve.  In addition to now providing more resources than any Affiliate Network has ever offered before from software to creatives, hundreds of applicants were considered but only a small handful of well known, helpful and experienced team players were asked to join our prestigious new offering. 

Obviously, many people have a lot of questions, I will do my best to answer them here for you, and at the end I will provide links to places where any questions you have can be asked in a public forum I will be moderating tonight from 5PM to 10PM CST.  Some of the FAQ below was prepared by my staff for your reference, I will personally be responding live to your questions tonight.

1) WHAT IS THE ONE WORLD NETWORK

The One World Network is a conglomerate of Internet Marketing companies including; CPATank Inc, Hollywood Vine Group, and OWN: Private Network.  CPATank Inc’s stock ownership was transferred to One World Publishing, LLC in February 2012, where Vito Glazers remained and still remains President of the company. One World Publishing, LLC was also the operating entity for the Hollywood Vine Group, a consulting company based in Los Angeles, CA providing web and social media management and services.  One World Publishing was also the operating entity for various publishing and entertainment deals.

As CPATank Inc, One World Publishing’s largest property, began to grow exponentially due to global interest, it was obvious that changes had to be made to accommodate the needs of a growing client base. In December 2012, Glazers decided to reconfigure the holdings of One World Publishing, first to return CPATank to its original role as a training ground for new affiliates, and create and launch OWN: One World Network to improve control and the flow of business.

2) WHAT IS GOING ON WITH CPATANK?

CPATank already relaunched last week approving hundreds of pending applications.  CPATank will return to being an affiliate training platform as was its original use back in 2009 when the company started. CPATank will be auto approving new affiliates referred by certain Internet Marketing courses, and accepting applications for ambitious students willing to learn.  Various simple methods and start up products will be shared with affiliates of CPATank to help them reach the next level.  

If you still have a balance with CPATank, it will be transferred over to the new system.  Please mention your prior CPATank AFF ID when applying to OWN for expedited approval and balance transfer.  Balances will be paid in full once they have reached the $500 threshold.  Those applicants with a CPATank Aff ID in good standing will be given priority approval so that the threshold can be met fast.

3) IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ONE WORLD NETWORK AND CPATANK?

Aside from the fact that they are both owned and guaranteed by Vito Glazers, these are two completely different types of networks.  As stated above, CPATank is going to be for introductory affiliates only.  The One World Network is the brainchild of several Internet Marketing masterminds who are combining and collaborating resources and energy to provide the best network experience possible for active affiliates.

Thank you for all your patience.  I am writing first of all to wish every one of you a happy and prosperous New Year.  

We have been working around the clock 7 days a week since we asked publishers to pause traffic on 11/18 to get CPATank back up and ready for a new year.  We have been able to accomplish a lot of great changes in just a few weeks and are excited to get back to doing what we do best, serving affiliates.

WHAT IS NEW AT CPATANK

In that time we have overhauled the core infrastructure of CPATank;

1) removing dead offers,  

2) relabeling categories,  

3) removing deadbeat advertisers and partner networks who were providing offers that never paid  

4) and taking back control of accounting that had been outsourced to a 3rd party in 2011.   

All affiliate’s payments over $500 have been settled in full.   All affiliates who were banned for fraudulent leads have been alerted and sent detailed reports.  Please make me aware of any forum posts or other public complaints of non payment, and I am prepared to gladly address them immediately.  All payments under $500 have been carried over to the new system.  Since I am personally retaking control of the Accounting system, $500 minimum payouts will be strictly enforced, no exceptions will be made, otherwise the same disorganization will inevitably reoccur.

THE $300K DEBT HEARD AROUND THE NET

Many people may have read the articles going around that I was having a problem collecting a debt of over $300,000.  Having to chase down deadbeat advertisers and partner network debts in this industry is common, and that is why proper financial backing is required to run a network.  As always, I have maintained a well diversified position and although this debt is substantial to anyone, it is not enough to create a cash-flow problem for me by any means.  This debt is actually over a year old and we have been operating fine and will continue to operate by my core fundamental principle which is:

I WILL NEVER TAKE MORE TRAFFIC THAN I CAN AFFORD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET.  This has and always will be the only way we operate.  We still maintain a cash float of more than 4 times what the bills are at any time. 

I will issue a separate statement regarding the uncollected Debt before Affiliate Summit 2013 once my priority of getting CPATank back open to affiliates is handled first.  I have been hearing more and more that many other affiliates and networks are owed by the same individual, and it would be my pleasure to work with you together to vigilantly collect what we are all owed. 

Regardless of this inconvenience, our finances are in order, we have about a dozen direct partners providing all the best offers you need for all traffic sources, and the new CPATank will have an emphasis on quality and intelligent growth.

HOW TO GET BACK INTO CPATANK

CPATank has grown to having over 12,000 publishers.  Many of you may know that we have a pretty limited staff of 5 people maintaining the entire network. Regardless of our diligence against fraud and strict approval system, we are changing our focus from being a broad volume based network, to a slimmer more personalized one on one network.  This is your invitation to reapply to CPATank via a special form that will be released on 1/3/2013 on CPATank’s homepage.

The new form will not be as elaborate as our old form; we just need to gather clear information on what your intentions with CPATank are. The details you will need to include to be re-approved are:

1) What specific offers, or offer types, will you need us to provide for you. We will not have “Public” offers anymore.  Every campaign will be set up personally for each affiliate and monitored one on one by our staff to ensure the advertiser is delivering conversions as they should be, and that the affiliate’s quality is in line with the terms of the offer.  Emphasis is quality from BOTH sides.

2) What type of traffic you will be using to run. CPATank is still the most flexible affiliate network in terms of monetizing just about any non fraudulent traffic.  By staying honest with us in your application, we can help you get into the right campaigns that will last as long as you want to run them.

3) Proof of earnings will be required if you don’t have a big history with us already.  There is no “minimum” earnings requirement to be accepted, but we are only interested in working with professional affiliates and not trolls or tire kickers.

4) Also we are only interested in working with people with good communication skills.  Communication is what keeps the best affiliates going the longest.  We expect to communicate with you at least once or twice a week, and if we have issues that need to be discussed we need replies within 24 hours.  One on one relationships work both ways, so we will be making sure we both have open channels of communication. 

After reapplying, more than anything, we will need your patience.  We will be serving affiliates one on one and growing intelligently, and that will take time.  We will grow our staff according to the needs of our affiliate base, but I will not compromise long term quality for the short term thrill of having affiliates running wild. It may take a while to get a reply regarding your application, and we appreciate your patience, understanding, and loyalty.

In conclusion, it feels great to be back at the helm and more prepared than ever to lead affiliates to prosperity in 2013.  These years go by so fast.  Since we started back in 2009, we have learned a lot, had ups and downs, but still remained one of the most if not arguably THE most consistent midsize CPA Network in the industry.  With a small staff we have competed with and outlasted many giants and paid out millions of dollars per year to loyal and worthy publishers.  

I look forward to a long future working together and am grateful for the encouraging words of support that we have received during the restructuring of CPATank.

  First of all, thank you.  Anybody reading this.  Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart; thank you for supporting my company even if you don’t do any business and just read my newsletter, I sincerely appreciate every bit of support which adds up to so much every day that you can’t imagine how much joy it gives me to show up to serve you everyday of my life, 7 days a week, almost every single week since November 2009.  

With over 7 years of experience in Affiliate Marketing, running multi million dollar operations as an Advertiser, an Affiliate and a network owner, sometimes simultaneously, I have learned lifelong lessons about not just affiliate marketing, but good business in general.

One thing my father taught me which has helped me last a very long time in an industry where even the best fall after 6 months to a year, is that the honest man has the fewest burdens.  I knew that by staying honest in a highly convoluted industry that the light would shine through the darkness, and it has.  The truth always shines brightest, and while other networks collapse, can’t afford to pay affiliates, have to practice deceptive tactics to profit, or flat out scam affiliates, CPATank continues to be beacon of innovation, strong relationships and financial responsibility.

If you haven’t used CPATank for a while, or if you have and just haven’t talked to me about a lot of the important factors that make up our network, I wanted to elaborate on some of the areas that helped us make many affiliates wealthy beyond their wildest dreams, and what set’s my network apart from so called competitors.  

Tracking

Our offer tracking and support are unsurpassed.  With over 300 direct offers, that means less chance for tracking errors and you pay less margin than dealing with networks that broker or double broker offers.  We pride ourselves that every one of our largest volume deals is direct and that direct advertisers love working with us for many of the same reasons affiliates do; transparency, availability and strong communication.

We recently switched nearly ever offer on CPATank to S2S tracking from iFrame tracking which virtually eliminates any possibility of any kind of tracking error.  I have always preached strong ethical standards in regards to making sure we do not deal with advertisers who greedily do not credit sales to affiliates, and always make sure affiliates have the highest payouts AND of course most importantly the highest EPCs.  Split test any campaign with us and you will see why nearly everybody who tries CPATank sees more of their sales than on any other network.

Our high EPCs have even started causing our less ethical competitors to start spreading malicious rumors about CPATank’s tracking that are completely unfounded.  An affiliate recently reached out to me saying that a network recently asked him to split test with them.  He did, and when he told the network owner that his EPC was much higher with CPATank, the owner rebuttled that it is because CPATank was “Shaving Clicks” to make EPCs appear higher.  This is completely absurd, unfounded, untrue, and personally insulting to the many years of honest service I have provided to this industry and to affiliates.   Feel free to contact our tracking provider Cake Marketing or take their tutorial to assure yourself that this is technologically impossible with the platform we use.  If our payouts and EPC’s make competitors so insecure they have to make up lies to have a chance at earning business, these are the kind of payouts and EPC’s that you can assure yourself will boost your bottom lines to record heights.

Split Test for yourself, if you have any concerns about missing sales, we have always been transparent and can send you screen shots from the advertiser accounts showing matching stats.  Will other networks offer you the same transparency?  If not, why?  I am so confident in our tracking that if you message me about a particular offer you want to split test,  I can personally guarantee you will have a higher EPC with us and if you don’t I will credit you on your split test.  So far of 5 affiliates I offered this to, I have only given one credit, and in all fairness it was a “similar” landing page he was split testing and not the exact one and he still has other campaigns that are more profitable with CPATank.

NEW TRACKING

One of the most important thing a CPA Network provides to Affiliates is reliable tracking.  But how reliable are the networks you are really sending to?  Many networks use the cheaper month to month services which track about as good as throwing darts at a dart board when it comes to tracking big campaigns and always have issues especially in the larger volumes.  We switched to Cake because it was one of the most reliable and elaborate tracking systems we came across, especially for affiliates pushing big traffic. 

Now what I have recently discovered is that not all networks on Cake are created equal.  I come from the adult industry where we used programs like NATS and custom tracking platforms that were always server based, meaning when a sale showed up in the advertiser system, the sale showed up in the affiliate’s earnings.  When I got into CPA advertising around 2009, I realized that most networks really preferred iFrame tracking.  iFrame tracking has never been something I stood behind for many reasons we can discuss and debate amongst each other in the late hours of the night over Skype or AIM.  The bottom line is, I wanted better for all of our affiliates.

That is why starting Monday (TODAY for many of you), we will now be going the extra mile and extra effort to ensure we have the absolute best tracking of any network out there by setting up all offers Server 2 Server tracking.  This means that as soon as a sale shows in the advertiser’s side it will immediately post to your CPATank account, there is no room for error, you WILL see the difference.  The best part is, you don’t have to do anything at all.  We moved over all the largest campaigns to the new tracking method over the past few days and a few affiliates I got to move over from other networks swear to me they are getting at least 10-15% more sales on the same exact offers they were running on other Cake or Linktrust networks.

A good number of affiliate’s don’t have a solid understanding of what an EPC is and how this measurement effects your campaigns. Well, here’s what you need to know.

EPC = Earnings Per Click

EPC is the most important stat to tell which campaign you’re promoting is performing the best (and the worst)

Is an offer that has a $40 payout better than an offer that pays $1.75? Maybe. Maybe not.

You can find out by calculating the EPC.

To calculate the EPC, you simply divide the revenue generated by the number of clicks.

For example, if you generate $40 after sending 100 clicks (visitors) to the merchant…

Divide $40 by 100 = 0.40.

Your EPC is 40 cents per click.

It’s very important to know this figure. It tells you exactly how much you’re earning for each visitor you send to an offer – allowing you to intelligently modify your campaigns, scale up or halt.

Fortunately, CPATank’s Affiliate Portal calculates EPC for you on the fly – so you ALWAYS know where you stand with a campaign.

My favorite traffic method has always been SEO, not necessarily my most profitable (although right up there), but certainly most satisfying and exciting. There’s nothing like channeling free, residual traffic.

On the flip side, establishing and holding on to your rankings can be challenging and hard work – but it usually pays off big time, if done correctly.

The SEO playing field is forever shifting, it’s part of the game – but this year has been particularly interesting with the Penguin Google Update and released this week, the Disavow Links tool.

In my report this week, I’ll let you in on what you need to do to establish and protect your rankings in the current SEO environment.

In late April, many SEO dreams were shattered – top rankings rolled out with the Google Penguin update. Overnight, sites disappeared from the results. Now, this has happened scores of times before with past Google updates – not much of a big deal, add a few hundred fresh links and there’s a good chance that you’re back in the game … but Penguin was different.

For the first time, this algorithm update permanently PENALIZED sites for poor quality links. In the past, your site could be deindexed but your link profile wasn’t held against you – just get Google’s attention with new links and you’re back in the game. Now, with Penguin, Google keeps track of your poor quality links and assigns you a negative pagerank… tough to recover from because it’s much harder to delete your quick-garnered links than to obtain them.

The Penguin update leaves the usual grey SEO methods useless – even harmful – article marketing, blog comments, forum posts, social bookmarking – basically, any method that a human hasn’t given your link a blessing, is going to do more harm than good.

Since April, many affiliates have been feeling the effects of the Penguin dagger – unable to regain their positions with good quality sites that have poor quality backlink structures. Well – there’s good news.

This week, Google introduced the Disavow Links tool in their Webmaster Tools Suite. This tool will allow you to submit backlinks to your site that you feel may be dragging down the rankings to be disregarded. In theory, you’ll be able to repair (and repent) your poor quality link profile. The process is said to take a few weeks, so there’s no “real life” data yet on how effective this tool is – but at least there’s hope.

Now – the downside to this tool is that Google will be collecting links and domains of sites that have been used for “quick and dirty” links in the past, expanding on their blacklist – so, if you did manage to squeak by Penguin, your number may come up soon.

So – what’s the most effective method for fast SEO now? Social media is the answer. It’s never been easier to have a link go viral with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tout, YouTube, etc. – build your social networks up, release viral content and distribute via your social media accounts. As your links are shared and redistributed, your rankings will benefit. Automation is not recommended – just too easy for Google to detect. Spend the time to legitimately build your social circles – fan pages are VERY powerful foundations.

To sum up; Google now penalizes your site for poor quality links, you can ask Google to negate these poor quality links via the new Disavow Tool, Google is building an awesome blacklist driven by the Disavow Tool, automation is more or less dead and Google loves human approved links via social media sites.

1) Traffic Platform: There are hundreds of viable PPC/PPV networks and thousands of solid direct buy opportunities out there. Don’t just settle on a few, test several out regularly.

2) Offer Selection: If you’re not at the ROI you need to be on a CPL offer, try a CPS – or vice versa. Many offers have alternative landers, try them all. Sometimes, switching to an entirely different offer is the answer.

3) Your Audience: With demographic tools, it’s easier than ever to target specific audiences. If “Men, 18-24, Some College, Single” isn’t working for you, try “Men, 25-34, College Grad, Married”

4) Keyword Research: Whether a paid campaign or SEO, the right keywords are critical. Constantly research your KWs.

5) Keyword Management: Make certain to utilize negative keyword options and expand as necessary. Always be adding new KWs to the mix. Group your keywords – organization is the key to effective management.

6) Keyword Culling: Purge your list of any under-performing keywords on a regular basis.

7) Quality Score: If the traffic platform has a form of quality score, pay close attention and act appropriately – removing the low and scaling the high.

Ad Copy: Each and Every word matters, especially when you have limit space to convey your message. Try to include a feature, benefit and call to action. You should have dozens of variations of each ad to test.

9) Call to Action: Test several CTAs – Buy Now, Buy Now!, Get it Today!, Only 5 Left!, Don’t Delay!, Click Now! etc. etc. –

10) Ad Copy Management: Eliminate low converting ads and scale the best converters – prune your ads continuously.

11) Ad Location: Try placing ads in various areas of a site if the ad buy allows – above fold, run of site, specific pages, footers – experiment with placement.

12) Ad Sizes: A recent case study showed that 250×250 works best for dating, while an old school 468×60 works best for financial offers – conduct your own ad size experiments.

13) Imagery: As you know, people are visual (especially men) – experiment with images; real life/animation, still/animation, gender/age of models, color of button/text, etc. etc.

14) Geo-Targeting: I can’t tell you how important and effective Geo-targeting your campaigns can be – segmenting by location and customizing ad copy to an area is SUPER effective.

15) Landing Pages: I know direct linking is so darn easy – but really, you’re doing yourself a major disservice by not running with your own landers. The ability of being able to change out pre-sale messages can make or break a highly profitable campaign.

16) Managing Your Budget: Obviously, increase the budgets on performing campaigns and decrease/eliminate those that aren’t performing. Make sure your cash flow is adequate to support your campaigns.

17) Bid Management: Keep tweaking your bids, you’ll find that in most cases you can lower your bid amounts after a while and still maintain your traffic volume – on most platforms you are rewarded for optimized campaigns.

18) Only Conversions Matter: Don’t focus on clicks, focus on conversion rates – clicks are meaningless, conversions are cash. Optimize your campaigns for conversions.
